Here's The Scoop! Popcorn Tin Winner's Name Drawn

That beauty of a gourmet popcorn tin is ready to go to its rightful owner! Yes, right on schedule, at 5:00 P.M. yesterday, December 22, a winning name was drawn! Just in case the winner prefers not to have her/his name on the Internet, we'll wait until after notification.

What we can tell you, is that the drawing was suitably supervised by a non-partisan bystander - so it was all on the up and up - just in case there are any doubts . . .

There's a short video coming to the popsies1 You Tube Channel by - oh, let's see, approximately noon today. (Barring technical difficulties).

Looks like we're a popular gathering place these last few days before Christmas - for last minute stocking stuffer shoppers and more . . .

 Remember these? Toss a few of these into a stocking and be ready for the "oohs" and ahh's"

Probably reminiscent of when you were a kid, marbles are a classic. Loved by kids of all ages - no matter your age, marbles probably had a comeback sometime during your childhood. Share them with your special kids.

 Depending on the stocking size, this toy plane will probably fit. Kids love it, and the price is very reasonable.

Drawers full of classic goodies! But wait - There are more! These aren't the only drawers inside Popsies that are stocked with your favorite old fashioned candies!

Of course, we'll make sure there's room for you - come on in.

Nostalgic Candy Has Interesting History

You've seen it on the labels if you've been in our store - "Since 1890", etc. Yes, some of these candies have been around for a long, looong time! Research has shown that many of them were first used for medicinal purposes.

Grandma Kay has some articles you may like to read. There's one about Licorice, Rock Crystal Candies, and another that's about popcorn, and how it pops. If you get a chance, they're quite informative.

Oh, by the way, the drawing for a free tin of delicious gourmet popcorn is happening Thursday, at 5:00 P.M., so if you can spare a minute, do come on in and sign up.

Remember the phones from the "olden days"?  Several households shared a line, and you had to call the "operator" and have her make your call for you.  Well, we're all about creating (and re-creating) memories (in addition to providing the freshest and best popcorn and sweets) here at Popsies so we got a little nostalgic in naming our "Insiders Club". Now, what usually happens when you go online and "subscribe" is that you'll immediately receive oodles of emails, get sick of the sales pitches, and rush to click the "unsubscribe" option.

We'll have none of that here at Popsies! (Though you'll still have the option to unsubscribe). You won't hear from us very often - we're planning on about once a month. We'd just like to stay in touch, let you know about new candies or added popcorn flavors, and maybe pass on an interesting little tidbit of information, or some "Grandma Kay" wisdom (that's one thing we get from sticking around a lot of years!). You'll have an opportunity to share your thoughts with us, as well. And, we're starting local, but if you're one of our many online customers, there'll soon be a form there you can fill out; we want to include you as a "Popsies Insider", too!

Gourmet Popcorn - People are Talking - About the Tantalizing Aroma

Some of our customers are buying gourmet popcorn, almost against their will. They're finding it too hard to walk out without some, so they're capitulating, against what they're saying is their "better judgement". It's the aroma they find absolutely irresistable. Especially, the caramel and caramel with chocolate drizzle.

You see, orders are coming in on a daily basis and , well, even though these consequences are unintended, we simply don't have any choice. We're popping continuously when new orders need to be filled, and that wonderful sweet aroma is simply the bi-product of this process. Fortunately, most people are pleased as punch with it, they say it's getting them in the mood for Christmas.

We're glad everyone is enjoying the atmosphere, and welcome you to come on in, too. Even if gourmet popcorn isn't on your list, you'll find a huge variety of old fashioned candies to choose from - and get to savor the popcorn aroma as an added bonus!
